Subject Specialism - 13/12/18

I started working on modelling the main environment for my animation. It will be taking place inside a martial arts Dojo. I will first be blocking out the size of the dojo compared to a biped just so I know how large to make the walls and ceiling etc. From there I can start adding detail such as decals on the walls, weapon racks and small touches that will make the scene more immersive. I also finished modelling my Sai. I had some difficulty with the cross guard since the shape is relatively awkward but made a fix by creating a sphere to hide the seams. Since the prop is relatively small and will be moving a lot, I feel the addition will not be obvious when the animation is complete.

I have finished my character sheets and have started modelling my assets. I created an asset list to allow myself to better visualize what models I need to create. I began modelling the most simple models first so that when I create the larger ones such as the Dojo and the characters, I can work and just get them finished. I created a Bo staff first since it is simply a long, thin cylinder and then began working on a Sai. I can just copy this to create a second one. The unwrapping for the Bo will be easy and can be done in literally minutes.
